To celebrate fashion week and the ever-increasing progress we're witnessing in the industry, we've decided to spotlight the five best sustainable fashion brands that the STARSEEDS Team love. These ethical designers are at the forefront of eco-friendly fashion, and are challenging that old school perspective that sustainable means sacrificing style...
Auria
Auria is made from regenerated nylon waste, called ECONYL®. The nylon is collected from all over the world and lived its former life as – wait for it – fishing nets, amongst other things. The nylon is then transformed in to a new a material which is 100% regenerable!
They're not lacking on design either – we love their powerful bright and colourful prints and strong silhouettes.
Reformation
We’d argue that Reformation are leading the sustainable fashion game right now, so much so that we’ve even seen some of their influences hit the fast fashion chains in past years. Not so long ago, sustainable fashion wasn’t necessarily fashionable, but Reformation’s feminine cuts and tailoring have put that stereotype firmly to bed. We haven’t seen designs that flatter the figure more than Reformation’s pieces and we absolutely love them.
And just to make you swoon even more, Reformation only use ‘sustainable materials, rescued deadstock fabrics, and repurposed vintage clothing’.
Mud Jeans
Everyone needs a staple pair of jeans – that reliable pair that feel and look good every time. Enter: Mud Jeans. We’re big fans of their denim design, and they have all the ranges you could want; flare, cropped, skinny, boyfriend and of course, straight fit.
Mud Jeans make their jeans out of a mix of recycled denim and organic cotton, and their commitment to sustainability doesn’t end there. Read their low-down the MUD Method here.
Matt and Nat
Who hasn’t seen Matt and Nat’s beautiful shoes and bags pop up somewhere on their travels recently? And with good reason, Matt and Nat’s designs are vegan and beautifully stylish. Their collections now include shoes, sunglasses, bags, luggage and even candles!
Named after ‘material and nature’, Matt and Nat focuses on vegan materials through using recycled bottles, bicycle tires, nylon, rubber, cardboard and cork, and the sustainable fashion brand are constantly looking for ways to evolve and work with nature.
STARSEEDS
You didn’t think we’d forget, did you? At STARSEEDS, we focus on creating beautiful athlesiurewear that’s technically designed to enhance performance and tailored to ensure comfort when chilling. Our founder and designer, Natalia Zawada, began her days in fashion at Alexander McQueen where she honed her expertise in exquisite tailoring before launching STARSEEDS several years later.
Nati took her love for good design and strong values to create a clothing brand that’s sustainable, ethical and well-made. Our pieces last and go the distance, and are developed slowly, with care and consideration. Made from natural and recycled products, absolutely everything we use in our production is kind to nature and kind to your skin. Find out all about our materials, processes and pieces here.
